Effective July 19, 2026.
Pine Forecast is a free outdoor trip-planning publication. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the site, why it is processed, and the choices available to you. Pine Forecast is responsible for the information it receives directly; Google and linked services also process information under their own policies.
Information involved
The crowd calculators run in your browser. The choices you make, such as a destination, date, and preferences, are used to produce an estimate on your device. We do not require an account to use the tools. Our hosting provider may still receive standard request data, such as IP address, requested URL, device or browser information, and request time, for delivery, security, and troubleshooting.
If you email us, we receive your message and email address so we can read and reply. We use that information to handle your request, corrections, or legal inquiry.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (G-4RSMHTEM5L) to understand which pages are useful and improve the site. Google Analytics may receive page activity, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser details, referral information, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies. We use these reports for audience measurement, performance, security, and site improvement. Learn more in Google's privacy policy, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google AdSense and advertising
We use Google AdSense (ca-pub-3452419773592552) to display ads that help keep Pine Forecast free. Google and its advertising partners may process device and browser information, IP address, ad interactions, and cookie or similar identifiers to deliver, limit, measure, secure, and, where permitted, personalize ads. Google may combine activity from this site with activity from other sites or services under its own policies. Read how Google uses information for advertising and use My Ad Center to manage ad personalization.
Consent and privacy choices
We do not currently claim that a sitewide consent-management platform is active. Google's certified Privacy & Messaging consent message must be enabled and published in the AdSense account before it can provide on-site consent controls in regions where it applies. Until a consent prompt is available, you can block or delete cookies in your browser, use the Google controls linked above, or contact us. Blocking cookies may change analytics or ad behavior but does not prevent access to our editorial content and calculators.
If a Google privacy message is shown, you can accept, reject, or manage the purposes and vendors presented there. A later visit may offer the message again where Google provides that control. Browser privacy signals and opt-out mechanisms may also be handled by Google and other providers according to their policies.
Affiliate and third-party links
Some pages include Amazon Associate product links. If you click through and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission. Affiliate links do not change our crowd estimates. We also link to official park, resort, weather, and travel resources. Once you follow a link, that service's privacy policy applies.
Legal bases, retention, and transfers
Depending on where you live, processing may rely on consent, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the site, performance of a request you make, or compliance with law. We keep direct correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain correction records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Hosting logs, analytics, and advertising data are retained under the applicable provider's settings and policies; those periods may differ by data type and can change when account settings change.
Pine Forecast and its providers operate in the United States. If you visit from another country, information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where a provider operates. Google describes its transfer safeguards in its privacy documentation.
Your US state privacy rights
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and other states with applicable privacy laws may have rights to know or access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or sharing as those terms are defined by law. You may also have the right to appeal a denied request and not be discriminated against for exercising a right.
Submit a request or appeal to contact@pineforecast.com with the subject “Privacy request.” We may need to verify the request and your state of residence. Pine Forecast does not sell personal information for money. Advertising data disclosures may nevertheless be treated as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under some state laws; use the Google ad controls above and any consent message presented on the site to express those choices. Authorized agents may submit requests where state law permits.
Children and sensitive information
Pine Forecast is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information or ask users to provide sensitive personal information through the calculators.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the site grows. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Questions or requests can be sent to contact@pineforecast.com.
