Many Glacier is reached from the east side by its own approach road; it is not a pullout on Going-to-the-Sun Road. Construction, wildlife, and parking controls can affect that entrance independently. Read Glacier's current conditions and area-specific access notices before crossing the park. A west-side room is ideal for Lake McDonald, but it can require a long predawn transfer for a Grinnell Glacier objective.
